MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
Huskers topple Kansas State
• NEBRASKA 71, NO. 24 KANSAS STATE 64: Steve Harley scored a career-high 20 points and Nebraska kept Michael Beasley in check as the Cornhuskers (15-9, 4-7 Big 12) beat the visiting Wildcats (18-7, 8-3). Beasley finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds to tie Carmelo Anthony's NCAA freshman record of 22 double-doubles. Aleks Maric had 15 points and 17 rebounds for the Huskers.
• NO. 1 MEMPHIS 97, TULANE 71: Chris Douglas-Roberts scored 29 points as the Tigers (26-0, 12-0 Conference USA) beat the visiting Green Wave (15-10, 5-6), giving coach John Calipari his 400th victory. The victory, coupled with second-ranked Tennessee's 89-70 victory against Auburn, sets up a showdown Saturday between the two top-ranked teams in the country. It will be the first 1-2 meeting since No. 2 Ohio State beat No. 1 Wisconsin 49-48 on Feb. 25, 2007.
• NO. 2 TENNESSEE 89, AUBURN 70: Ramar Smith scored 19 points and the Volunteers (24-2, 11-1 SEC) beat the visiting Tigers (13-11, 3-8). Tyler Smith added 13 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for the Vols, who extended their home winning streak to 30 games.
• NO. 3 NORTH CAROLINA 84, N.C. STATE 70: Tyler Hansbrough had 32 points -- including 16 during the decisive 11-minute run as the Tar Heels (25-2, 10-2 ACC) beat the Wolfpack (15-11, 4-8).
• NO. 8 BUTLER 51, ILLINOIS-CHICAGO 46: A.J. Graves scored 14 points, including the go-ahead three-pointer in the final minute, and the visiting Bulldogs (25-2, 14-2) Horizon) defeated the Flames (14-13, 8-8).
• NO. 25 MARQUETTE 73, ST. JOHN'S 64: Jerel McNeal had 20 points and seven rebounds as the Golden Eagles (19-6, 9-5 Big East) beat the Red Storm (10-15, 4-10) in New York for their third consecutive victory after a two-game losing streak.

Badgers back in first place
• NO. 11 WISCONSIN 71, ILLINOIS 57: Trevon Hughes scored 18 points and Marcus Landry added 17 to help the Badgers (22-4, 12-2) move into a first-place tie with Purdue in the Big Ten with a victory in Champaign, Ill. Illinois' loss guarantees the Illini (11-16, 3-11) their first losing season since 1999.
• NO. 19 MICHIGAN STATE 86, PENN STATE 49: Raymar Morgan scored 16 points and the Spartans (21-4, 9-4) remained unbeaten at home with the victory over the Nittany Lions (12-13, 4-9). The Spartans were coming off back-to-back road losses which likely knocked them out of the conference championship chase.
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
Connecticut women roll on
• NO. 1 CONNECTICUT 95, MARQUETTE 63: Maya Moore tied a season high with 31 points Moore hit her first nine shots and had 25 first-half points for the Huskies (25-1, 12-1 Big East), who led 60-22 at intermission.
• NO. 17 GEORGE WASHINGTON 82, SAINT LOUIS 58: Kim Beck scored 23 points as the Colonials (21-5, 9-2 Atlantic 10) beat the visiting Billikens (10-16, 5-6).
AREA HIGHLIGHTS
Concordia tops Tommies
• CONCORDIA 67, ST. THOMAS 57: Erik Lien scored 15 points and Luke Linz 12 as the Cobbers (12-12, 11-8 MIAC) defeated the first-place Tommies (20-4, 16-3) in Moorhead. Joe Scott scored 11 points for the Tommies. ... In other men's games, Trevor Wittwer scored 15 points and Jesse Van Sickle and Robert Schmidt scored 13 points apiece as Gustavus Adolphus (18-6, 14-5 MIAC) beat Hamline 87-58. ... Zach Johnson had 29 points and seven rebounds to lead Carleton (17-7, 12-7 MIAC) to a 62-51 victory over St. Olaf. ... Mike Moberg scored 26 points on 10-for-12 shooting as Bethel (14-10, 10-9 MIAC) defeated Macalester 88-68 in St. Paul. Tim Conboy scored 30 points for Macalester (6-18, 4-15). ... Visiting Augsburg held Saint Mary's to only 19 second-half points as the Auggies rallied from a 38-34 halftime deficit to beat the Cardinals 72-57.
